From the Publisher
Often very funny, this book offers a view with a twist to the standard reports on emergency first aid, feeding, winter and summer care and how to reduce the horse-fly population.
All medical, nutritional and health care information is validated by Dr. Alice M. Blazer, veterinarian and certified acupuncturist. You'll find her advice often reflects the prevailing opinions of practicing veterinarians, yet frequently takes on a more common sense horseman's approach to keeping horses healthy and happy.
From the Inside Flap
Dr. Alice was granted her doctorate in veterinary medicine from UCD with highest honors, being first in her class, and was awarded the School of Veterinary medicine medal.
Sticking horses with western meedles is good medicine, but being able to also stick them with eastern needles makes medicine even better. So Dr. Alice became certified in veterinary acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
With all those needles, a stethoscope, x-ray machines, floats, hoof testers, and bottles of pills, tablets and capsules, when Dr. Alice arrives in the pasture, horses get better, and in this book, she explains how and why.
